Sometime back my modem got zapped during a lightning storm via the phone line.
As a resulted I needed to get a new modem quickly and figured I would upgrade from my then USR Sportster 14.4 Fax/Modem to a 28.8 Fax/Modem of some type. I
needed the modem to work on a major project at school so I wasn't too picky at the time and just bought what was available. A Generic Modem in every sense of
the word.
When I use it with ProComm for Windows or any other common comm program it seems to work just fine, but when using SLIP/PPP it always disconnects after a
certain length of time. I am suspecting that it maybe related to overflow
of some kind.
I was planning on getting an init string of some type but I do not know the maker.
The identification that I can give is as follows:
* The box claims it's a Fax/Data Mode
* A tag on the boxs has: V.34 28800bps FAX Modem 1428VQH
* box claims to support: BELL103,212A, CCITT V.21,V.22,V.22bis, V.23,V.32,
